Mara Iacoe
Physiotherapist
Mara is a physiotherapist with nearly a decade of experience working in private orthopaedic clinics. Her passion for rehabilitation began during her Honors Specialization in Health Science at the University of Western Ontario in 2013. As an undergraduate, she volunteered as an assistant swim instructor in a retirement community and as an aid in a physiotherapy clinic. Combined with her lifelong involvement in sports and physical activity, these experiences inspired her to pursue a career dedicated to improving health and well-being through physiotherapy.
She graduated from the University of Toronto in 2016 with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy and has been a member in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario ever since. Mara’s treatment approach is rooted in thorough patient assessment and individualized care, with a strong emphasis on manual therapy and exercise-based rehabilitation.
Mara has completed Level 3 of the Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Program. She is certified to deliver the Good Living with osteoArthritis in Denmark (GLA:D) program, supporting patients with hip and knee osteoarthritis. She also holds certification in Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA – Level 1) and has training in the Robin McKenzie Institute’s Lumbar Spine Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy.
Committed to lifelong learning, Mara is eager to expand her expertise in dry needling, vestibular rehabilitation, and Mulligan treatment concepts. She also aspires to complete the orthopaedic levels required to become an FCAMPT-Certified therapist (Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy).
Outside of her professional practice, Mara maintains an active lifestyle through gym workouts, cycling, and Pilates.
